Ambition Snowskates Vs other brands snowskate
The snowskates flatdecks are what you might call skateboards of snow. The snowskate type is mainly used in the street or in snow parks, and consists of a simple wooden or plastic board deck made of wood or plastic, grooved on the underside and covered with non-slip foam on the top. Ambition is the historic leader in this field. Here's a comparison of the different models on the market.
Presentation of the range snowskates Ambition
Ambition JIB Series
These are the most economicalsnowskates from the Canadian brand. Unlike the other decks Ambition, the JIB Serie chainrings are made of plastic. This range is aimed primarily at beginners. The underside of the deck features 7 grooves to ensure good trajectory control on snow. On the top, a concave is integrated into the moulding and covered with anti-slip foam. The shape is symmetrical andthe angle of the kicks is very pronounced togive the feet an easier grip. Only one size is available: 8.5" x 32.5", which will fit the vast majority of adult riders. Among the snowskates Ambition, this JIB series is the easiest for novices to get to grips with. Forextra pop and stiffness, we recommend keeping deck in a cold place the day before use (car boot, garage, etc.).
Ambition Team Serie
The snowskates Ambition Team Serie are the most popular and are aimed at a wide range of players. 7-ply maple board with solid-colour, abrasion-resistant UHMW sole. 7 grooves for better control. Among the grooves, those at the ends are squarer and deeper, while in the centre the groove is wider and more rounded. The aim is to maintain a stable line on the snow, then gain in agility during grinds. On top, there's a simplegriptape foam pad with no concave. Only one size available: 8.5" x 32.5".
Ambition Premium / Pro Serie
The Ambition Pro series is the most elaborate range and is aimed at experienced snowskaters & skaters. The overall construction is identical to that of the Team series. However, the Ambition Pro Series is distinguished by the addition of a concave and graphics in the sole. Unlike the other ranges, the Pro Series is available in different widths.
Hovland Snowskates Flatdeck
Hovland flatdecks are the most elaborate in terms of construction and are aimed primarily at a beginner audience. The core of the deck is made of vertically laminated wood and covered with fibre. Polyurethane fields provide impact protection and a perfect seal, so there' s no risk of delamination due to humidity. As with the snowskates Ambition, the Hovland has a 7-groove UHMW anti-abrasive sole. Compared with Ambition, the grooves have a more rounded profile, which improves handling (despite the loss of stability). For each model, the sole incorporates a graphic design. On the upper side, the griptape foam includes a concave in the same way as the Pro Ambition series. There's a choice of 3 sizes: 8.5 x 34.75" / 8.875" x 35" / 9.5" x 36.5".
Ice Grind Snowskates

Cheap snowskates usually found on Amazon-type marketplaces. The snowskates Ice Grinds are more toys than real snowskates. The decks are made entirely of PVC with 5 grooves. The deck has a slight concave which has the disadvantage of settling on the snow side, making the deck very unstable and difficult to handle. It's very difficult to control your trajectory, and edge stalls are frequent and unpredictable. Following some bad feedback, we decided that the snowskates Ice Grind are too dangerous and don't meet the quality standards you'd expect from a snowskate purchased in a skateshop. We have therefore decided to remove them from our shelves.
Decathlon Snowskate

Should we really use the namesnowskate"to describe this Decathlon plastic device that is closer to a child's sledge than a skateboard snowboard? Being curious, we tried it out. First of all, we were surprised by the small size, which gives the impression that an adult is standing with his feet half-jointed. The shape of the deck is quite original, with a space on each side for the feet, and a dome accompanied by a strap (too short for an adult) in the centre designed to enable beginners to stand up and throw ollies... We're still trying to work out where to find the pop release point... The sole has a single groove that keeps the trajectory straight, but makes turning very difficult. Kids will be able to have a bit of fun with the snowskate Decathlon if theywant to let off steam and roll around in the snow.
