How to board and unload a chairlift with a snowskate?
Converting a chairlift for snowskate use is a fairly simple operation, and it is essential to ride off on the snowskate so as not to trample the unloading area and not disrupt the flow by slowing down the lift.
All Bi-level snowskates (with ski) sold at Fulkit are STMRTG certified. This means they have passed a test confirming their safety when used on ski lifts. The STMRTG is the organization recognized by ski resorts in France. When you purchase a snowskate from Fulkit, you receive an STMRTG certificate of compliance (along with a sticker attached to the ski). Fulkit is currently the only shop providing this certificate to its customers (we initiated all the approval procedures).
Note: Whether snowskates are accepted in a ski area depends on the authority of each resort or local council. It is therefore important to refer to their regulations.
1. Boarding the chairlift
Getting on the chairlift with a snowskate is done the same way as for pedestrians. Keep your board in your hand. Make sure your leash is properly attached to your belt (avoid belt loops that could tear off) in order to eliminate any risk of your equipment falling during the ride.
Lower the safety bar and enjoy the fresh air.

2. Unloading
-
Lift the safety bar
-
When the chairlift reaches the unloading area, place the snowskate on the snow (using the front hand makes it easier) and stand up on your board at the same time
-
Let yourself slide away
The arrival at the chairlift is handled the same way as in snowboarding. It is essential to get off standing on the snowskate so as not to trample the unloading area and avoid disrupting the flow by slowing down the lift.
