How to set up a skateboard
In this article, we explain step-by-step how to assemble a skateboard from the different spare parts: deck, grip tape, trucks, bearings, wheels, and hardware. Building your own skateboard is often the best way to get a board that perfectly matches your expectations in every way.
The components:

_1 Set of 4 wheels
_1 Skateboard deck
_1 grip tape sheet
_A set of 2 trucks1 set of 8 Bearings
_Set of 8 mounting bolts & nuts
(_Pads)
_Set of 4 bearing spacers
Tools:

_Skateboard T-Tool
_Bearing tool
_Small screw driver
_Philipps or allen screwdriver
_File
_Cutter
(_Electric screwdriver)
Assembly Steps:
Start by installing the bearings into the wheels, placing the spacer between the two bearings in each wheel. If the bearings have an open side (visible balls), position this side inward to prevent dust and moisture from getting in later. The bearings are inserted by simply pressing them in until they stop.
Install the wheels onto the trucks: make sure to place a washer (speed ring) between the truck and the wheel, then another between the wheel and the nut. Tighten the nut until the wheel is held firmly. If the wheel does not spin freely, loosen it slightly. Repeat the process on all four axles.
Apply the grip tape to the deck. The grip comes in the form of an adhesive sheet. Remove the protective backing. Position yourself above the board. Gently lay the grip starting from the center, carefully following the curves of the kicks. Use a cutter to cut the corners, then trace the outline of the deck by rubbing with a fine file (try to maintain a consistent angle). Next, press the cutter blade against the edge of the skateboard (on top of the grip) and pull to remove the excess grip. If air bubbles remain under the grip, poke them with the tip of the cutter and apply pressure to make them disappear.
Mount the trucks onto the deck. Pierce the grip where the trucks will be placed using a fine screwdriver. Insert the 4 screws into the board => add the pad (optional) => place the 4 nuts => tighten using the tool or a drill (be careful to adjust the clutch sensitivity properly).
Check that the trucks are properly adjusted, and adjust the tightness of the bushings if necessary (be careful not to over-tighten. If the bushings are deformed, it means you’ve tightened them too much).
All that’s left now is to go test your new skateboard!
