The Shadok Pumptrack Challenge was held in St George de Commiers on Sunday 11 June under a blazing sun, organised by La Familia 38 Longskate with the help of Fulkit.

This relaxed competition was the next in a long series organised over several seasons by La Familia and Fulkit. For the first time, the contest took place at the new pumptrack in St Georges de Commiers, a few kilometres from Grenoble.

27 competitors of all ages (7 to 47) and genders came out to shoot the breeze with a smile and no pressure.

The contest took place in several formats: Time trial over 2 laps, pursuit race, Wall ride, Endurance 10 laps.

This year, the overall level of competition was stepped up a notch, and we witnessed a very tight battle for the podiums. The public was treated to a great show, as were the riders.

Time trial:

Open: 1st Florentin Le Provost, 2nd Baudouin Montfort, 3rd Pierre Emmanuel Denoncin (Aka DJ Little Tune)

Under-16 Men: 1st Nolan Lambert, 2nd Clément Baret, 3rd Sohan Roesch

Women: 1st Alice Ricaud, 2nd Kathlyne Lavis

Under-16s Women: 1st Zélie Robert, 2nd Edmée Tissot Rosset, 3rd Yaëline Le Provost

The pursuit race was full of suspense and so close that a rerun was needed to decide the winner at the photo finish. In the final, Florentin Le Provost beat Baudouin Montfort by just a few centimetres. Guillaume Brun rounded off the podium.

The wall ride consisted of climbing the highest up the steep bend. After several spectacular attempts, Pierre Emmanuel Denoncin surpassed all the other competitors by brushing the top of the wall at a height of almost 4 metres! Guillaume Brun and Romain Robert rounded off the podium with equally fine performances.

In the endurance event, Gauthier Hareng had the strongest legs and the best breath, followed by Guillaume Brun and the indefatigable Pierre Emmanuel Denoncin.
