Mitch Thompson makes it into the Fulkit Wall Of Fame! While in Europe for the World Skate Games, we took the opportunity to get to know Mitch a little better and ask him a few questions. Here's his portrait interview:

Pierre: Hi Mitch, can you introduce yourself for those who don't know you yet?

Mitch: Hi, my name is Mitch Thompson aka Mitty. I was born in 1997 and I'm originally from Mt Panorama in Australia, where I still live.

Pierre: How did you start longboarding?

Mitch: In 2012, as I was about to go to a freestyle scooter and BMX event, I stumbled across a DH longboard competition (Newton's Nation). I was really impressed by my discovery, and a few months later I started DH.

Pierre: What do you enjoy most about longboarding?

Mitch: Competition and friends are what motivate me the most. I love the competition aspect and pushing myself. Outside of competition, I really enjoy discovering new routes and travelling with friends. I love speed and steep roads. In DH longboarding, there's something that unites us, no matter who you are or what you do in life.

Pierre: Can you tell us a bit more about your track record?

Mitch: I'm starting to have a good list...

Pierre: Of all your titles, your World Cup victory at Newton's Nation particularly impresses me. Having ridden it myself (Pierre Gamby) twice, this course is totally out of the ordinary. Can you tell us more about it?

Mitch: Yes, it's true that winning Newton's Nation made a big impression on me. First of all because it's my home spot, I grew up and live at the foot of this road. This is where I discovered DH longboarding. It's also a very fast and committed track. Many consider it to be one of the scariest on the world circuit. There's a lot of acceleration, a lot of risk-taking, and the crashes are generally very violent. A mistake can be very costly.

Pierre: In terms of set-up, what equipment do you use?

Mitch: I ride my deck PantheonIt's a deck short (32.12") missile shape with W convave. For trucks I use Valkyries MK 3.5 DH in 115-125mm, and for the wheels I have my pro model 88 Wheels Big Mitty 82mm. Together they form a deck very stable and responsive, with a lot of grip, which is perfect for racing conditions. skateboard conditions.
