Race Report: Longboard DH French championship round 2
From June 3rd to 6th, the Outdoor Mix Festival took place in the Hautes Alpes. For the first time, the Festival turns into a race and becomes the French longboard DH championship final round.
The event took place over 4 days, consisting of 2 days of freeriding (training and riding out of competition) and 2 days of racing.
The Réallon spot is a 3.5km long alpine road with some big hairpins, corners to grip, and big schuss with pif paf sections. The top speed is slightly above 100Km/h for the fastest.
After a first morning of training in the rain, the sun miraculously hung all weekend long for the happiness of all.
Once again, we were able to witness a very high level of riding with many title contenders, including Yanis Markarian, Diego Poncelet, Adrien Paynel, Alexandros Tzouganakis, and Dylan Rumo
In timed qualifying, Franco-American Adrien Paynel won with a lead of half a second over Diego Poncelet.

For this second decisive round of the 2022 season, the fight was tough. Yanis Markarian was determined to keep his title. One of the favourites, Alexandros Tzouganakis, crashed during the quarter-finals and lost all hope of a medal.
It was finally Adrien Paynel who won, followed by Yanis Makarian, Lucas Poulain, and Dylan Rumo.
In the 2022 season rankings, Yanis Markarian retains his title of French champion for the 4th consecutive season, and thus remains at the top of the French podium since 2015! Lucas Poulain and Dylan Rumo share the joint 2nd place
