Roller derby is a disciple in its own right among the multitude of existing roller quad practices. As the constraints are very different from those of other sports (disco, park, walking, etc.), derby skates have their own specific features:

• Reinforcements: In derby, shocks and friction are repetitive. Derby skates are therefore equipped with various reinforcements and are more resistant than normal skates.
