About Powell Peralta

Powell Peralta is one of the pioneering brands that has shaped and continues to shape the history of skateboarding. Based in California since 1978, the brand is a union of skills between George Powell (an engineer who made his first skateboard in 1957) and Stacy Peralta (a professional skateboarder). The cavity holes in the baseplate have been filled, making it perfectly balanced and virtually indestructible! The pinch has been moved back a tad to add strength without changing the geometry that makes Indys turn so damn good.

Powell-Peralta deck returns were so high the company sought ways to make decks stronger and more resistant to jump breaks. One solution was Bonite construction. Another was the "Gee-Gaw" shape which had bumps to reinforce the break zone area. This shape was originally produced between 1987 and 1988. Single pressed with 7 ply US maple and premium glue.
