La Familia Shadok Skate Pumptrack Challenge St Georges de Commiers 2023: Race report
On Sunday, June 11th, under scorching sun, the Shadok Pumptrack Challenge St George de Commiers took place, organized by the association La Familia 38 Longskate with the help of Fulkit.
This laid-back skateboard competition was the continuation of a long series organized for several seasons by La Familia and Fulkit skateshop. For the first time, the contest took place at the new pumptrack in St Georges de Commiers, a few kilometers away from Grenoble (France).
27 competitors of all ages (7 to 47 years old) and genders came together to compete fiercely with the smile and without any pressure.
The contest took place in several race formats: Timed race over 2 laps, pursuit race, wall ride, and 10-laps endurance.
This year, the overall level has once again stepped up, and we witnessed a tightly contested battle for the podiums. The audience indulged in a superb show, just as much as the riders did.
Results:
Timed race:
Open: 1rst Florentin Le Provost, 2nd Baudouin Montfort, 3rd Pierre Emmanuel Denoncin (Aka DJ Little Tune)
Men under 16: 1rst Nolan Lambert, 2nd Clément Baret, 3rd Sohan Roesch
Women: 1ere Alice Ricaud, 2nd Kathlyne Lavis
Women Over 16: 1ère Zélie Robert, 2nd Edmée Tissot Rosset, 3è Yaëline Le Provost
The pursuit race was full of suspense and so tight that a rerun was necessary to determine the winner through a photo finish. In the final, Florentin Le Provost emerged victorious over Baudouin Montfort by a lead of just a few centimeters. Guillaume Brun secured the third place on the podium.
The wall ride challenge involved climbing as high as possible on the elevated turn. After several spectacular attempts, Pierre Emmanuel Denoncin surpasses all other competitors by skimming the top of the wall at nearly 4 meters high! Guillaume Brun and Romain Robert complete the podium with impressive performances as well.
On the endurance test, Gauthier Hareng has the strongest legs and stamina, followed by Guillaume Brun and the tireless Pierre Emmanuel Denoncin.
